Theatre Cats African Summer School A Drama and Dance Week for 5-16 year olds 11th – 15th August 2008 Ever wanted to ... Act?  Sing?  Perform? Then this is the summer school for you!       Theatre Cats Stage School is holding an African themed Summer School, which will take place on Monday 11th August – Friday 15th August at The William Allitt School in Newhall. The week will consist of African singing, mask making and the creation of their own piece of drama based on themes of poverty and The Lion King, which they will perform to family and friends on the last day. Students will develop skills by working as a team, performing as an ensemble and becoming more confident and comfortable as young performers. All this whilst meeting new friends and have something to focus on during their long summer break. An exciting dance and drumming duo consisting of Joliba West African Drum School and African Dance Production will be providing an African themed workshop and a performance with the children. They have worked with many Schools, Community Centres and African Drum and Dance projects delivering quality and enjoyable Dance Workshops and performances.

Each day will start at 10am (staff will be on site from 9:30am) and finish at 3pm. The children will have 30 minutes for lunch during this time. The summer school will take place in the fully equipped drama and dance studios at The William Allitt School in Newhall and there will be at least 4 members of staff to teach and supervise.   The summer school has already attracted great interest, however, there are only 40 places available and will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

The cost of the summer school is just £97, which works out at less than £20 per day! If you have more than one child then we will send you a refund of £20 for any additional sibling who enrols on the Summer School.
