New Theatre Cats Classes to open in Coalville and Derby
Tuesday, November 1st, 2011Theatre Cats began in Burton on Trent in January 2008. Thanks to our fun, energetic and inspiring drama classes we have gone from strength to strength, and in January 2012 we will be opening two new schools, COALVILLE and DERBY.
The classes are aimed at all children between the ages of 5 and 16. Our goal is to inspire confidence and self-esteem through our classes, which include drama, dance, singing, movement and musical theatre, all delivered by our team of professional teachers and performers.
Your first class is FREE, so you can come along and see how much fun we have without having to pay a penny! Classes are just £7 per session thereafter, and discounts are also available for two or more siblings attending.

Extra Theatre Kittens Classes over the Summer
Thursday, July 15th, 2010We are running 2 extra classes in both locations over the summer holidays due to great demand.
- Wednesday 28th July – 10:00-11:30am – The Priory Centre, Stretton.
- Friday 30th July – 10:00-11:30am – Mickleover Community Pavilion.
- Wednesday 1st September – 10:00-11:30am – The Priory Centre, Stretton.
- Friday 3rd September – 10:00-11:30am – Mickleover Community Pavilion.
Please feel free to come along to all classes as the themes will all be different.
The cost for each class will remain at £4.00 and £2.00 for each additional sibling.
Trinity Drama Exams Sat 17th and Sun 18th July
Wednesday, July 14th, 2010Just a little good luck message to the 67 members of Theatre Cats who are taking their Trinity Drama Exams over this weekend. Sat 17th July is at The Brewhouse Arts Centre in Burton, DE14 1EB. Sunday 18th July is at The William Allitt School in Newhall, DE11 0TL.
You have all put so much effort into learning your stories, actions, monologues, mimes and poems. Now the time has come to impress the examiners with your skills! A big thank you must also go to all of the mums, dads, grandparents and friends who have encouraged you along the way!
Therefore there are no Theatre Cats classes on Sat 17th July. Sat 24th July is our last class before Summer where we will be giving out Theatre Cats reports and certificates and your exam results!
Fi, Tom, Alex, Kyle and myself are already so proud of you all. Remember to aim high, introduce yourself and your pieces and smile!
Saturday 26th June in Stretton
Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010Our Burton classes which normally run on a Saturday at Shobnall Leisure Complex will be at The Priory Centre, Church Road, Stretton, Burton DE13 0HE on Saturday 26th June. Their class time will remain the same as usual.

Theatre Kittens to launch in Burton
Monday, June 7th, 2010Theatre Cats is pleased to announce that it will be opening its second Theatre Kittens class for pre-school children aged 2-4 years in Stretton, Burton. The launch date is Wednesday 9th June. The class will take place at The Priory Centre, Church Road, Stretton in Burton on Wednesday mornings at 10:00-11:30am. Theatre Kittens classes involve a variety of skills, including singing, movement and rhythm, imagination building, playing with instruments, dressing up and story-telling through drama. Research shows that early participation in drama, music and the performing arts develops imagination, creativity, confidence, coordination, language and communication skills.
Theatre Kittens will enhance your child’s development through shared activities for you both to enjoy. It’s an ideal way for you to socialise with other parents over a cuppa too.
Theatre Cats also runs classes for 5-16 year olds in Burton, Derby and Newhall. Theatre Kittens also runs a class for 2-4 year olds in Mickleover.
Creative Teacher Vacancy
Monday, April 26th, 2010Theatre Cats is a stage school in the Midlands which opened in January 2008 in Burton upon Trent with just 2 classes. It now has 12 classes over 3 locations and we have recently opened our Theatre Kittens classes for 2-4 year olds.
Our main aim in to build confidence and self-esteem in children through the Performing Arts.
We are looking for a dedicated and creative teacher to lead our Theatre Kittens classes. You must be CRB checked and have a passion for working with children. Experience of working with young children is a huge bonus. Candidates will be invited to teach a 10 minute class prepared by the candidate which will then be followed by an interview. The successful candidate will be expected to plan and deliver all classes.

We have the following vacancey available at Theatre Cats from September 2010 (please note that our current Theatre Kittens teacher would like to work alongside the successful candidate from June 2010)
Position: Theatre Kittens Teacher.
Location: Mickleover, Derby.
When: Friday mornings during term time from 10:00 – 11:30am.
Start date: Friday 25th June.
We are also in the process of opening Theatre Kittens classes in Burton, Swadlincote and other locations during the daytime as well. These days and times haven’t yet been chosen so please state what your availability is as we will be expecting the same teacher to teach all of our Theatre Kittens classes.
Payment details for Theatre Kittens Teacher: Between £10 – £12 per hour dependent on age and experience.
Please note that you be working on a freelance basis and so will need to registered as self-employed.
(Theatre Cats can point you in the right direction if you are unsure about this.)
Deadline for full applications to be returned: Monday 3rd May.
